I will say that if you live in Downey or the surrounding areas this is the place to come. The food is prepared jn such a traditional way that I can taste my grandma's cooking when I come here.

Never have I ever tried such a good rice besides the Casita Mexicana in Bell, this is my favorite second restaurant for rice.

The beans are really good as well, not too much lard or fat but just the right taste of olla beans smashed.

People complain about things that are done traditionally because they are used to enchilada sauce from a can and braised meats that go as far as Taco Bell .

If you want decent Mexican food for a reasonable price come here.

If you want fast service sometimes seating at the bar is the best choice, and don't forget to try their michelada . It is my favorite !

I'm sorry to disagree with a bunch of angry yelpers, who enjoy their neighborhood's Petes or Jim's . Come down and try it for your self , be adventurous and you won't regret it here.
